Rush, No. 8 Kansas look to continue dominance of Nebraska

LINCOLN, Nebraska (Ticker) -- Brandon Rush and Kansas hopes to continue their dominance of a border rival.

The eighth-ranked Jayhawks aim for their seventh straight win over Nebraska when the Big 12 Conference rivals square off Monday in Lincoln.

The preseason conference favorite, Kansas (18-3, 5-1 Big 12) has won 12 of its last 13 games, including Saturday's 97-74 victory over Colorado.

Rush and Mario Chalmers each scored 21 points for Kansas, which shot 55 percent (35-of-64).

Russell Robinson had 12 points and Sherron Collins added 11 for the Jayhawks, who harassed the Buffalos into 30 turnovers. It was the seventh time this season the Jayhawks have forced an opponent to commit at least 20 turnovers.

Kansas hopes for another strong defensive effort Monday against the Cornhuskers (12-7, 1-4), who have lost 15 of the last 16 meetings between the schools and have not beaten the Jayhawks since February 15, 2004.

Nebraska dropped a 61-45 decision Saturday at Kansas State, its second-lowest scoring output of the season.

Aleks Maric scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Cornhuskers, who fell to 2-6 on the road this season.

However, Nebraska has been much tougher at home, winning its first 10 games her before dropping a 62-61 decision to Texas last Wednesday.
