George Washington defeats Princeton 65-50

Nov 25, 2009 - 2:34 AM WASHINGTON(AP) -- Bryan Bynes paced a balanced attack with 13 points and George Washington closed the game on a 16-6 run to defeat Princeton 65-50 on Tuesday night.

The Colonials (4-0) took the lead for good early in the first half, but could not shake the Tigers, leading 49-44 with 5:54 remaining. Damian Hollis, one of 10 Colonials to score, started the decisive run with two free throws and scored seven of his nine points in that stretch.

Bynes tacked on two of his four 3-point field goals to give the Colonials their largest lead at 64-46. George Washington, which is 4-0 for the first time since 2006-07, also converted 16 of 17 free throw attempts.

Patrick Saunders scored 12 points for the Tigers (2-2), who were 5-for-26 (19.2 percent) from beyond the arc.

The Colonials limited Princeton to 24.0 percent from the field (6-for-25) in the first half en route to a 28-21 halftime lead.
