No. 2 Wisconsin can win 18th straight vs. No. 25 Indiana

Jan 31, 2007 - 3:08 PM No. 2 Wisconsin (21-1) at No. 25 Indiana (15-5) 7:00 pm EST

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) -- Alando Tucker has been one of the many reasons why Wisconsin has been one of the dominant teams in the nation this season.

Tucker tries to lead the second-ranked Badgers to their 18th consecutive victory - the nation's longest active streak - when they visit No. 25 Indiana in a Big Ten Conference clash.

A 6-6 senior, Tucker was named co-Big Ten Player of the Week after hitting 17-of-23 shots and averaging 21.5 points in last week's victories over Michigan and Iowa. He is the team's leading scorer at 19.6 points per game.

The Badgers (21-1, 7-0 Big Ten) are off to the best start and longest winning streak in school history. They are 7-0 in conference play for the first time since 1913-1914 and are one of two teams in Division I without a road loss. The other is Virginia Commonwealth.

Wisconsin extended its winning streak with Sunday's 57-46 triumph over the Hawkeyes. Tucker hit 11-of-14 shots and scored 27 points and Brian Butch added 13 points with 14 rebounds.

Unbeaten in 11 home games this season, Indiana (15-5, 5-2) has won six of its last seven contests and is two games behind Wisconsin in the conference standings.

The Hoosiers bounced back from a loss at Illinois with Saturday's 76-61 victory over Michigan. D.J. White and Roderick Wilmont scored 15 points apiece as Indiana limited the Wolverines to 35 percent (15-of-43) shooting.
