2nd-half run lifts South Alabama by Arkansas 74-61

Nov 29, 2009 - 10:46 PM FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.(AP) -- Martino Brock scored 21 points and South Alabama rallied back from Arkansas' furious first-half surge to win 74-61 Sunday.

Bad starts to both halves doomed the Razorbacks (2-4), who have lost three consecutive games to mid-major opponents at home in the last six days.

South Alabama (6-2) took a 22-6 lead out of the gate.

Arkansas got back into the game with a 22-1 run over a 5:02 stretch and led 34-30 at halftime.

But South Alabama countered with a 17-0 run of its own over a 5:46 span in the second half to break a 40-40 tie.

Arkansas hit just six baskets after intermission and shot a season-worst 35 percent.

Rotnei Clarke led the Razorbacks with 19 points as Arkansas played without senior center Mike Washington, who aggravated a back injury in warm-ups.

Bryan Sherrer and Tim Williams each added 11 for the Jaguars.
