Brooks leads Temple past Western Michigan 76-70
Dec 2, 2009 - 3:11 AM KALAMAZOO, Mich.(AP) -- Ryan Brooks had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead four Temple players in double figures as the Owls topped Western Michigan 76-70 Tuesday night.Craig Williams and Juan Fernandez had 14 points each for Temple (5-2), and Lavoy Allen added 13.
David Cool had 30 points to lead the Broncos (2-3), Donald Lawson added 14 and Whitfield Flenard had 13.
The game was close throughout, and Western Michigan led for much of the first half but struggled with its shooting in the second. The Broncos hit just 1 of 12 3-pointers in the second half after making 4 of 10 in the first. They shot 36 percent (12 of 33) from the field in the second half after shooting 52 percent (14 of 27) in the first.
The Owls improved their shooting from 38 percent (16 of 42) to 44 percent (15 of 34) after the break.
