Feb 1, 2007 - 3:05 PM No. 10 Duke (18-3) at Virginia (13-6) 9:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (Ticker) -- After dropping its first two Atlantic Coast Conference games, Duke got angry and took it out on its next few opponents.

The 10th-ranked Blue Devils shoot for their sixth consecutive victory to remain in the hunt for the top spot in the ACC standings Thursday when they visit Virginia.

After consecutive defeats to Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech in early January, Duke (18-3, 5-2 ACC) won its next five games by an average of 16.6 points. The Blue Devils allow their opponents an average of 56.0 points to rank among the nation's leaders.

Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski is 698-194 in 27 seasons at Duke and is two wins shy of becoming the eighth Division I coach and second-fastest to reach 700 at the same school.

Duke extended its recent winning streak with Sunday's 75-61 triumph over Boston College. DeMarcus Nelson scored 17 points and Josh McRoberts added 16 with 12 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Blue Devils.

Virginia (13-6, 5-2) is riding a four-game winning streak. The Cavaliers have won 10 of their first 11 contests at their new home court, John Paul Jones Arena.

The Cavaliers are coming off Sunday's thrilling 64-63 victory over Clemson. J.R. Reynolds scored 18 points and Sean Singletary and Adrian Joseph had 11 each for Virginia, which scored the final 15 points down the stretch.

Duke has won the last nine meetings and 22 of the past 24 matchups against Virginia.
