Central Arkansas tops Southern University 79-63
Dec 6, 2009 - 1:44 AM NACOGDOCHES, Texas(AP) -- Tadre Sheppard scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds to help Central Arkansas blow past Southern University 79-63 on Saturday night.The Bears (3-5) went into halftime ahead by just five points but outscored the Jaguars (0-8) in the second half 49-38 thanks to 14 points by Sheppard.
Chris Poellnitz led the Bears with 21 points, while Mitch Rueter had 12 and Jared Rehmel added 11.
Central Arkansas shot 55 percent from the floor, while Southern hit just 40 percent.
Tony McGilveary led the Jaguars in scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Earnest Jones added 15 points, and Jazz Williams came off the bench to score 12.
