Feb 3, 2007 - 2:49 PM No. 21 Clemson (18-4) at Georgia Tech (13-8) 1:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Clemson is in dire need of some positive results after an impressive start to the campaign.

The 21st-ranked Tigers try to win for just the second time in six games to avoid falling further behind in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings with Saturday's showdown against Georgia Tech.

The Tigers were the last remaining undefeated team in Division I after winning their first 17 contests before dropping four of its next five. They have been outrebounded four times in their last five contests.

Clemson slipped to 4-4 in ACC play with Sunday's 64-63 defeat against Virginia. Vernon Hamilton scored 16 points and James Mays added 12 with 10 rebounds for the Tigers.

Looking to snap a four-game losing streak, the Yellow Jackets are just 2-6 against conference foes. However, they have won 11 of 12 home games this season.

Georgia Tech is coming off Tuesday's 85-75 loss at Wake Forest. Jeremis Smith and Ra'Sean Dickey scored 14 points apiece for the Yellow Jackets.

Clemson posted a 68-66 victory over Georgia Tech in their first encounter January 6. Mays scored 16 points, including the go-ahead layup with 2.2 seconds left.
