22nd-ranked Arizona looks to end two-game slide

Feb 3, 2007 - 3:34 PM Washington (14-7) at No. 22 Arizona (14-7) 1:30 pm EST

TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Coach Lute Olson hopes that Arizona can return to the winning side of things real soon.

The 22nd-ranked Wildcats will try and end their two-game slide when they visit Washington for a Pac-10 Conference matchup on Saturday.

On January 24, Arizona (14-7, 5-5) suffered one of its most horrific home defeat in history, a 92-64 loss to North Carolina.

Most recently, the Wildcats dropped a 72-66 decision at home to Washington State on Thursday. Freshman Chase Budinger poured in 19 points during the loss.

Arizona looked like a Pac-10 and national title contender early on this season but has lost six of last eight games and is coming apart at the wrong time of year.

The Huskies (14-7, 4-6) enter winning three straight contests with Thursday's 66-61 victory at Arizona State. Sophomore Jon Brockman collected 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

In their last meeting on January 4, Arizona earned a 96-87 triumph behind an impressive 76 percent (16-of-21) shooting performance in the second half.
