No. 10 Duke can continue home unbeaten mark vs. Florida State

Feb 4, 2007 - 3:43 PM Florida St (16-6) at No. 10 Duke (18-4) 2:00 pm EST

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Still haunted by an overtime defeat, Duke faces a team they have never lost to at home.

The 10th-ranked Blue Devils try to win for the sixth time in seven games and close the gap in the race for first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference when they host Florida State on Sunday.

Duke has won all 15 home encounters against the Seminoles and has taken 25 of the 30 all-time matchups. Coach Mike Krzyzewski's squad is 5-3 in ACC play and can move within one game of first-place Boston College.

The Blue Devils had a five-game winning streak snapped with their second overtime defeat of the campaign, a 68-66 loss to Virginia on Thursday. Josh McRoberts scored 19 points and DeMarcus Nelson added 12 for Duke.

Before the game, former Blue Devils star J.J. Redick will become the 13th player in school history to have his uniform number retired. He set the NCAA record for 3-pointers (457) and scored an ACC-record 2,769 points in his career.

The Seminoles opened January with three losses before winning four of their next five and are 4-4 in ACC play, 2 1/2 games off the pace. They are looking for their first three-game winning streak against conference foes since joining the ACC in 1994-1995.

Florida State is coming off Tuesday's 96-79 triumph over Maryland. Al Thornton made 12-of-17 shots and scored 27 points and Jason Rich added 24 for the Seminoles.

Thornton averaged 31.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two meetings against Duke last season, including a 79-74 victory on March 1, when he scored 37.
