No. 21 Notre Dame seeks rare road win vs. DePaul

Feb 8, 2007 - 5:00 PM No. 21 Notre Dame (18-5) at DePaul (13-11) 7:00 pm EST

ROSEMONT, Illinois (Ticker) -- Notre Dame's inconsistency on the road may come back to cause problems down the stretch.

The 21st-ranked Fighting Irish attempt to win for the third time in four games when they conclude a three-game road swing Thursday against DePaul in a Big East Conference encounter.

Despite winning all 15 home games this season, Notre Dame (18-5, 6-4 Big East) is 1-4 away from home during conference play and is three games behind first-place Pittsburgh in the conference standings.

After setting a season high in points (103) at Syracuse on January 30, the Fighting Irish struggled with their outside shooting in Saturday's 69-66 loss to South Florida.

Colin Falls made 10-of-18 shots to score 26 points and Russell Carter added 14 for Notre Dame, which shot just 37 percent (24-of-64) from the floor and was outrebounded, 48-38.

DePaul (13-11, 4-6) has won nine of 11 home contests and is in a battle to avoid finishing in the bottom four of the Big East standings, which would eliminate the school from next month's conference tournament in New York.

The Blue Demons have dropped four of their last five outings, including Saturday's 75-69 defeat against Syracuse. Draelon Burns tied a career-high with 26 points and Wilson Chandler added 11 with 13 rebounds.

Notre Dame has won four of the last six matchups against DePaul.
