Marquette seeks to bounce back vs. DePaul

Feb 14, 2007 - 3:05 PM No. 13 Marquette (21-5) at DePaul (14-11) 8:30 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) - Guard Dominic James and Marquette hit a bump in the road on Saturday. James hopes that's not the case this time.

The No. 13 Golden Eagles hope to rebound from their first loss in more than a month when they visit Big East Conference foe DePaul on Wednesday.

Marquette (21-5, 8-3 Big East) had its season-high eight-game winning streak snapped with a 76-58 thrashing at Georgetown last Saturday. Ousmane Barro recorded a double-double in the loss.

James struggled in the loss, scoring just six points on 2-of-17 shooting from the field. He leads the team with 15.3 points per game this season.

The Blue Demons (14-11, 5-6) have been impressive at home, going 10-2 this season, including a 67-66 triumph over Notre Dame here on February 8.

DePaul would like to improve on its 1-2 showing against ranked programs this campaign, dropping matchups to Kentucky and Pittsburgh before a December 2 upset win over Kansas.

The Golden Eagles have won 25 of the last 30 meetings in the series against DePaul.
