Furman routs Georgia Southern 69-45

Jan 17, 2010 - 12:01 AM GREENVILLE, S.C.(AP) -- Amu Saaka scored 16 points and Furman snapped a three-game losing streak with a 69-45 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday.

Jordan Miller added 15 points for the Paladins (9-8, 3-3 Southern Conference).

The game was tied at 6-6 before the Paladins went on a 30-11 run over the final 15 minutes of the first half for a 36-17 lead. Holding a 52-34 advantage with 9:01 to play, the Paladins had a 17-5 run to grab their biggest lead at 69-39 after a 3-pointer by Miller with 3:40 left.

Furman outrebounded the Eagles 54-32, and had 16 second-chance points. The Paladins also scored 24 points on 15 Eagles' turnovers.

Both teams shot poorly, with the Paladins making only 23 of 58 field goal attempts (39.7 percent), while the Eagles made 14 of 57 (24.6 percent).

Antonio Hanson had 13 points to lead the Eagles (4-15, 1-5), who have lost two in a row and 11 of their past 12.
