Morgan State beats Winston-Salem 84-65
Jan 19, 2010 - 3:45 AM WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.(AP) -- Reggie Holmes scored 22 points and Kevin Thompson recorded a double-double, leading Morgan State in an 84-65 win over Winston-Salem on Monday night.Thompson scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bears (12-7), who have won four straight. Dewayne Jackson added 11 points and Rodney Stokes had 10. Thompson also blocked three shots.
The teams traded leads throughout the first half until the Bears put together an 11-3 run to take a five-point halftime advantage. Jackson dropped in a pair of layups to spark the Morgan State run.
The Rams never regained the lead, as the Bears outscored them 44-30 to seal it in the second.
Paul Davis scored 16 points to pace the Rams (5-10), who had their season best two-game winning streak snapped. Andrew Jackson chipped in with 11 points and Brian Fisher added 10.
