Young, West Virginia look for 20th win, host Seton Hall

Feb 17, 2007 - 4:09 PM Seton Hall (12-12) at No. 22 West Virginia (19-6) 4:00 pm EST

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (Ticker) - Frank Young and West Virginia hope to win their 20th game in their second attempt when they host Seton Hall on Saturday in a Big East Conference matchup.

The Mountaineers, fresh off an upset of then No. 2 UCLA last Saturday, were drubbed by Georgetown, 71-53, on Monday. Joe Alexander and Darris Nichols each scored 10 points and Young added eight for West Virginia (19-6, 7-5 Big East), which seeks its third straight 20-win season.

On February 3, the Mountaineers defeated the Pirates, 81-70. Da'Sean Butler scored a career-high 21 points and Young added 17 for West Virginia, which has won two straight vs. Seton Hall.

The Pirates have lost three straight, including a 67-55 loss at Connecticut Wednesday. Brian Laing scored 17 points and Eugene Harvey added 10 and five assists for Seton Hall (12-12, 3-8), which has also dropped six straight Big East contests.

The Pirates shot just 29 percent (19-of-66) vs. the Huskies. They also may have more trouble from the Mountaineers who rank second in the conference in points allowed at only 59.0 per game.

Seton Hall owns a slight edge in the all-time series, 11-10.
