No. 22 BYU seeks eighth straight win

The 22nd-ranked Cougars can win their eighth consecutive game and remain in first place in the conference on Wednesday, when they attempt to avenge an earlier defeat against Colorado State.
The conference leader in points (78.3), rebounds (37.8) and assists (16.5), BYU (20-6, 10-2 MWC) has won its last 29 home games, one behind Air Force for the nation's longest streak, and has taken 22 of 28 conference games in the last two seasons.
The Cougars recorded their second consecutive 20-win campaign with last Wednesday's 96-83 victory over New Mexico. Keena Young scored 23 points and Austin Ainge added 15 for BYU, which shot 63 percent (19-of-30) from the floor in the second half.
BYU leads Air Force and Nevada-Las Vegas by one game in the conference race and can take the regular-season crown by winning its last four games. The Cougars defeated the Falcons on January 27.
Since setting a season high in points in a 90-78 triumph over BYU on January 20, Colorado State (15-10, 5-8) has dropped six of its last seven contests.
The Rams are coming off Saturday's 67-58 defeat against Air Force. Jason Smith made 9-of-12 shots and scored 22 points and Tyler Smith added 10 for Colorado State.
