Sam Houston State beats Texas A&M-CC 90-74
Feb 14, 2010 - 3:37 AM HUNTSVILLE, Texas(AP) -- Gilberto Clavell had 30 points and eight rebounds to lead Sam Houston State to a 90-74 victory against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday night.The Bearkats (18-5, 10-0 Southland Conference) never trailed as five players scored in double figures. Corey Allmond added 15, Josten Crow 14, Drae Murray 12 and Ashton Mitchell 10.
Demond Watt led the Islanders (13-11, 7-3) with 21 points, and Kevin Palmer added 19.
Sam Houston State shot 35 of 59 (59.3 percent) from the field and outrebounded Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 32-29.
Clavell made 13 of 17 shots.
