Washington St. aims to end eight-game skid vs. Oregon St.
Feb 24, 2007 - 5:26 PM No. 11 Washington St (22-5) at Oregon St (11-18) 8:00 pm ESTCORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Washington State might be streaking toward a rare berth in the NCAA Tournament, but it has struggled at Gill Coliseum.
The No. 11 Cougars will try to halt an eight-game road losing streak at Oregon State when they matchup in a Pac-10 Conference contest on Saturday.
Washington State (22-5, 11-4 Pac-10) is looking for its first victory here since a 69-53 triumph on January 15, 1998.
The Cougars are also looking to bounce back after having their five-game winning streak snapped in a 64-59 loss at Oregon on Thursday. Junior leading scorer Derrick Low was held in check, scoring just six points.
With the latest setback, Washington State dropped two games behind UCLA for the top spot in the Pac-10.
The Beavers (11-18, 3-13) ended a two-game losing streak with a 73-65 triumph over Washington on Thursday. Josh Tarver scored 16 points and Marcel Jones contributed 15 for Oregon State, which has the second-most losses in the conference behind Arizona State (1-14).
The Beavers hope to capture their first win against a ranked opponent on Saturday, going 0-8 this season.
