Couisnard, McKinney-Jones lead UMKC to 83-69 win
Feb 26, 2010 - 4:04 AM KANSAS CITY, Mo.(AP) -- Jay Couisnard had 22 points and Trey McKinney-Jones 19 as UMKC beat Centenary 83-69 on Thursday.The Kangaroos (12-16, 6-11 Summit), who outrebounded Centenary 44-25, also got 16 points from Spencer Johnson and 13 points and 10 rebounds from LaTreze Mushatt.
All five starters scored in double figures for Centenary (8-20, 3-14). Daman Starring had 14 points, Pedro Maciel 13, Jerrald Bonham 12 and David Perez and Maxx Nakwaasah 10 each.
UMKC trailed 25-23 with 7:40 left in the first half before going on a 12-2 run, with Mushatt scoring the final five points. The Kangaroos were on top 42-36 at halftime and upped their lead to as many as 14 in the second half.
Centenary was just 5 for 23 on 3-point attempts.
