Balanced Oral Roberts pushes past UMKC 89-72

Feb 28, 2010 - 3:39 AM KANSAS CITY, Mo.(AP) -- Michael Craion led five Oral Roberts players in double figures in an 89-72 victory over UMKC on Saturday night.

Craion posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds and had four blocks for the Golden Eagles (19-12, 13-5 Summit League), who won their fifth straight and will be the No. 3 seed in the league tournament.

Kevin Ford also had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Dominique Morrison added 17 points, Warren Niles 13 and Ken Holdman 11.

Trey McKinney-Jones' 17 points paced the Kangaroos (12-17, 6-12), who will be the eighth seed. Jay Couisnard added 15 and Spencer Johnson 10.

Oral Roberts outshot UMKC 55.6 percent (30 of 54) to 35.8 percent (24 of 67) and had a 46-29 rebounding edge.

The Golden Eagles' lead reached 53-38 on Morrison's basket with 16:04 left, and UMKC got no closer than 10 the rest of the way.
