Maryland puts five-game winning streak on line at Duke

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Maryland has won five straight Atlantic Coast Conference games heading into Wednesday's meeting with 14th-ranked Duke.

Maryland (22-7, 8-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) moved into a tie with Duke in the ACC after beating North Carolina on Sunday night.

The Terrapins' winning streak began with a home victory over Duke on February 11. Freshman Greivis Vasquez led the team with 18 points and Maryland used a 29-4 run in the first half to cruise to a 72-60 win.

The Blue Devils (22-7, 8-6) have won four straight games since the loss to the Terrapins.

Duke is coming off a non-conference win over St. John's, 67-50, on Sunday. Point guard Greg Paulus led the team with 19 points and the Blue Devils held the Red Storm to just 10 points in the first half on 3-of-22 shooting.

Duke holds a commanding 42-19 lead in the series since Mike Krzyzewski took over as coach.
