Penn lifts Allen's 'interim' tag as Quakers coach
Mar 30, 2010 - 7:16 PM PHILADELPHIA(AP) -- Jerome Allen is losing his interim tag as head coach of the Penn Quakers.Allen, who was elevated to the head job when Glen Miller was fired in December after an 0-7 start, will remain Penn's basketball coach, the school announced on Tuesday. Penn went 6-15 after Allen took over, including 5-9 in the Ivy League.
Allen was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year while playing at Penn. He was a four-year starter for the Quakers and led them to three consecutive undefeated conference records from 1993 to 1995.
The school scheduled a news conference with Allen for Wednesday.
