OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Kansas begins its quest for back-to-back Big 12 Tournament championships Friday when it meets Oklahoma in the quarterfinals.

The second-seeded Jayhawks (27-4) enter the tournament as the top seed and in the midst of an eight-game winning streak.

Julian Wright, a first team All-Big 12 Conference selection, scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as Kansas concluded the regular season with a 90-86 win over Texas on Saturday.

In the only regular-season meeting between the teams, Kansas pulled out a 67-65 victory. Wright and Mario Chalmers scored 18 points apiece for the Jayhawks, who held the Sooners to 33 percent (20-of-60) shooting.

Kansas has won eight conference tournament titles, one ahead of Oklahoma.

Nate Carter scored 22 points as ninth-seeded Oklahoma posted a 68-63 victory over Iowa State on Thursday.

The two teams have met 10 times previously in the tournament, with Kansas holding a 6-4 edge. Oklahoma won the last meeting, 64-55, in the 2002 final.

The winner plays either Texas Tech or Kansas State on Saturday.
