Missouri crushes William & Mary

Dec 18, 2011 - 11:39 PM Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - Michael Dixon scored a game-high 30 points, leading No. 10 Missouri to a 94-56 win over William & Mary on Sunday.

Kim English added 17 points, while Matt Pressey and Ricardo Ratliffe both had 11 for the Tigers, who improved to 11-0 for the first time since the 1981-82 season.

"Good win for us," said Tigers coach Frank Haith. "I thought we played really well today."

Tim Rusthoven scored 14 points to pace the Tribe (2-9), while Matt Rum and Marcus Thornton both chipped in 10.

The result was never in doubt for the high-octane Tigers, who have scored at least 81 points in every game this season. They jumped out to a 19-0 lead against the Tribe and never trailed, leading by as many as 40.

In fact, William & Mary missed its first eight shots from the field and didn't get on the scoreboard until Rum's three-pointer with 8:28 remaining in the opening half.

"I thought defensively we were really, really good in the first half," continued Haith. "And then you know, a team's going to make some shots."

Missouri took a commanding 44-18 lead into the locker room and didn't let up after the break, shooting 67.9 percent (19-for-28) from the field and 45.5 percent (5-for-11) from three-point range over the final 20 minutes of play.

In addition to their perimeter prowess, the Tigers held a decisive edge in the paint, outscoring the Tribe 48-24.
