Baylor keeps rolling, hits triple digits in rout of Oklahoma State

Jan 15, 2012 - 12:03 AM Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Quincy Miller scored a career-high 21 points and Pierre Jackson turned in a big performance off the bench as No. 4 Baylor routed Oklahoma State, 106-65, on Saturday.

Jackson shot 5-of-9 from three-point range and finished with 18 points, eight assists and five steals. Perry Jones III added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Bears (17-0, 4-0 Big 12), who are one of three undefeated teams left in Division I.

Baylor, which had never before started a season 17-0, made 15-of-29 from beyond the arc. It will put its undefeated record on the line Monday against No. 10 Kansas in Lawrence.

"I know our players are excited to play in a good game, and I think as a coach you just love having the stage where people can see how our guys can play," said Baylor head coach Scott Drew.

Keiton Page and Markel Brown both scored 15 points for the Cowboys (9-8, 2-2), who beat Oklahoma on Monday and were still in Saturday's game late in the first half. Brown sank a layup with six minutes left to pull Oklahoma State within 28-23.

But Brady Heslip followed with a three-pointer to start a 15-4 run. Jackson drilled a three later in the run, which Quincy Acy ended with a dunk to make it a 43-27 game with 2 1/2 minutes left. Acy scored six during the burst.

Baylor carried a 46-31 advantage into the break, then used long-distance shots from Jones and Heslip to push its lead to 54-35 a few minutes into the second half.

The Bears continued to expand the margin with quick bursts. A six-point run made it a 65-41 contest with just more than 13 minutes to go, and a 9-5 run pushed the lead to 74-46.

Jackson ended that rally with a three-pointer, and Baylor maintained a large lead for the final 10-plus minutes.

"They played really, really, really well," said Oklahoma State head coach Travis Ford.

It was a marked difference from the Bears' last win, a 75-73 victory at Kansas State. Four of their wins this season have come by three points or fewer, but their scoring output Saturday was hard for Oklahoma State to contain.

Baylor recorded its first 100-point game since scoring 106 against Hardin- Simmons on Nov. 22, 2009.

Baylor's 17-game winning streak is the longest in program history...Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 50-18, but Baylor has won the last six meetings in Waco.
