Jan 20, 2012 - 4:48 AM University Park, PA (Sports Network) - Tim Frazier hit the game-winner with 8.3 seconds to play as Penn State upended No. 22 Illinois, 54-52.

With time winding down, Frazier drained a pull-up jumper from the right for a 54-52 lead and Illinois got the ball down the court before calling a timeout.

On the in-bounds, Sam Maniscalco drove the lane down the right side for a potential game-tying layup, but Jermaine Marshall came over for the block and time expired.

Frazier finished with 12 points and nine assists while Cammeron Woodyard had 17 points for Penn State (10-10, 2-5 Big Ten), which snapped a three-game slide.

Brandon Paul had 20 points and six rebounds while Meyers Leonard added 15 points for Illinois (15-4, 4-2), which had a three-game winning streak stopped.

Three-pointers from D.J. Richardson and Paul followed by a layup from Nnanna Egwu staked the Illini to a 17-9 lead with 11 minutes left in the first half.

The Lions, though, responded with an 11-2 run and later scored the last three points of the first half to take a 25-23 lead into the second half.

Penn State came out shooting in the second half and hit the first three baskets to take a 31-23 lead on Matt Glover's jumper three minutes in.

The score stayed close for the next several minutes until Paul hit a three- pointer to cut Penn State's lead to 43-42 with 7:12 minutes to play.

Penn State was leading by five, 52-47, with two minutes to play, but Joseph Bertrand buried a layup and Paul tied the game on a three-pointer with 39.1 seconds to play.
