Eastern Illinois not renewing HC Mike Miller's contract
Feb 27, 2012 - 8:02 PM Charleston, IL (Sports Network) - Mike Miller is out as the men's head basketball coach at Eastern Illinois.The university's athletic director Barbara Burke announced Monday that Miller's contract -- set to expire on April 30 -- will not be renewed.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank Mike Miller for his service to Eastern Illinois University and in particular to our men's basketball program," Burke said. "He is a quality individual who has worked extremely hard and dedicated many hours to our student-athletes and the Panther basketball program."
The Panthers concluded the regular season with Saturday's loss at Eastern Kentucky, dropping their record to 12-17. Eastern Illinois failed to qualify for the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament for the second straight season.
In 2010, Miller led the program to its first winning season since 2000-01.
