No. 10 Gonzaga rolls past San Francisco

Jan 27, 2013 - 4:46 AM Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Elias Harris scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to help 10th-ranked Gonzaga continue its home domination of the San Francisco Dons in a 66-52 triumph Saturday night.

Kelly Olynyk posted 13 points and Kevin Pangos added 11 for the Bulldogs (19-2, 6-0 WCC), who remained the lone unbeaten team in West Coast Conference play.

"We need to be proactive on the defensive end," Gonzaga coach Mark Few said. "We are deep and so much better when we are playing that way, then when we are kind of sitting back. By and large over the weekend I thought we were pretty good at being proactive."

The Dons, who were led by nine points from Chris Adams, have lost 24 straight road games to the Bulldogs. The last time USF won in the regular season in Spokane came Feb. 10, 1989, when the Dons topped the Bulldogs 67-64 in the Martin Center which sits next door to the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Avry Holmes scored eight points for the Dons (9-12, 2-6), who had won their previous two games.

Gonzaga shot 18-of-31 from the field in the opening 20 minutes. Conversely, the Dons were 7-of-22.

Holmes' 3-pointer got the Dons within 18-17, but Drew Barham's make from beyond the arc began an 11-2 Gonzaga run. Barham sank another trey to close the push.

The Zags went into the break holding a 43-21 lead thanks to a half-ending 14-0 rally.

The Dons were never within single digits in the second half.
