Florida Gulf Coast downs North Florida in Atlantic Sun quarterfinals
Mar 7, 2013 - 12:18 AM Macon, GA (Sports Network) - Chase Fieler scored 22 points, grabbed nine rebounds and shot 3-of-3 from behind the arc as Florida Gulf Coast edged North Florida, 73-63, in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament.Bernard Thompson had 18 points and Sherwood Brown donated 14 and seven boards for the Eagles (22-10, 13-5 A-Sun), who have won three straight and advanced to the conference semifinals for the second straight season. The Eagles face the winner of the Stetson versus East Tennessee State matchup taking place Thursday.
Parker Smith scored a game-high 29 points on 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point range for the Ospreys (13-19, 8-10), en route to becoming the Atlantic Sun's all-time leader in single-season 3-pointers made with 117. Travis Wallace followed with eight points and eight rebounds.
