Brent takes over as new Jackson State coach
Mar 26, 2013 - 2:26 AM Jackson, MS (Sports Network) - Jackson State has named Wayne Brent its new head men's basketball coach.Brent has more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. He led Callaway High School to the 2013 state championship, the fourth time he's accomplished such a goal at the Jackson-based school.
From 1998-1999 through 2000-2001, he served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Ole Miss.
Brent takes over for Tevester Anderson, who announced his retirement earlier this month. Anderson led the Tigers to an 11-18 overall record this season, and was 149-170 during his 10-year run at JSU.
