South Dakota's Tecker to miss senior season

Apr 16, 2013 - 4:44 PM Vermillion, SD (Sports Network) - South Dakota basketball guard Steve Tecker will miss his senior season because of a hip injury.

Tecker has undergone three hip surgeries to continue playing, but will now focus on rehabilitation.

"I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to play at USD for the past three years," said Tecker. "Even though I would like to finish my career playing as a Coyote, I am looking to spending some time away from basketball to rest my hips."

Tecker started 20 of the 88 games he played in three seasons. He averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 29 games during the 2012-13 campaign.
