Air Force signs Pilipovich to extension
Jun 26, 2013 - 8:46 PM Colorado Springs, CO (Sports Network) - Air Force signed men's head basketball coach Dave Pilipovich to a new five-year contract on Wednesday.Pilipovich has guided the program since Feb. 8, 2012 after Jeff Reynolds was relieved of his coaching duties. He officially became the Falcons' eighth head coach in program history on March 3 of the same year.
"I have seen enough of Dave Pilipovich as an assistant coach and a head coach to know the values he has," said athletics director Dr. Hans Mueh. "He is exactly the right guy to lead this program and I am excited about the future."
Pilipovich owns a career 20-20 record and led Air Force to an 18-14 record this past season en route to becoming the first coach to help the Falcons defeat two ranked opponents in the same year. The team's 18 wins tied for the fourth-most in single season AFA history.
