No. 24 Gonzaga handles Pacific

Jan 5, 2014 - 8:02 AM Spokane, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Pangos and Drew Barham netted 16 points apiece and No. 24 Gonzaga defeated Pacific 86-64 on Saturday.

David Stockton added 15 points and five assists for the Bulldogs (14-2, 4-0 WCC), who have won four straight. Sam Dower registered 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench in the triumph.

David Taylor and Andrew Bock scored 10 points apiece to lead the Tigers (9-5, 0-3), who have dropped four of their last five.

Pacific has yet to win a game in the WCC in its first year back since leaving the conference in 1971.

Barham nailed three 3-pointers, registered a three-point play and netted 12 quick points as the Bulldogs raced out to a 19-5 start.

"They say shoot when you are open,"Barham said. "I'm a shooter and the basket was a mile wide."

Gonzaga led by as many as 24 in the opening half before settling for a 46-25 advantage at the break.

The Bulldogs cruised to the easy win over the final 20 minutes.

Gonzaga shot 69.2 percent (27-of-39) from the field and 76.9 percent (10- of-13) from beyond the arc ... Przemek Karnowski had nine points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.
