Butler freshman Berry to transfer

Mar 24, 2014 - 9:25 PM Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Butler freshman Nolan Berry has been granted a release from the men's basketball team so he can seek a transfer to another school.

"We appreciate the effort that Nolan gave us this year, and we wish him well as moves forward," Butler coach Brandon Miller said in a statement Monday.

Berry, a 6-foot-10 center/forward from St. Louis, averaged 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 18 games for the Bulldogs.

The school did not say why he sought a transfer.
