Richman replaces Phillips at NDSU

Apr 8, 2014 - 11:27 PM Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Longtime assistant David Richman was named head men's basketball coach at North Dakota State on Tuesday.

Richman has spent 11 years with the Bison, the last seven as associate head coach under Saul Phillips, who was hired Sunday as coach at Ohio University.

It's the first head coaching position for the 35-year-old Richman, who has helped NDSU to the best two-year stretch in program history.

The Bison won 26 games this past season and upset No. 5 seed Oklahoma in their NCAA Tournament opener before losing to San Diego State.
