Taylor leads Texas rout of Alcorn State

Nov 17, 2014 - 6:19 AM Austin, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah Taylor had 12 points and five assists as No. 10 Texas cruised past Alcorn State 85-53 on Sunday night.

Myles Turner and DeMarcus Holland netted 10 points apiece for the Longhorns (2-0), who had 12 players reach the scoring column in the triumph.

Turner also supplied six of Texas' nine blocks. The Longhorns recorded 24 assists on 32 made field goals.

"When we get good ball movement, were not trying to settle for a good shot, we're trying to find a great shot," Texas coach Rick Barnes said.

Texas beat North Dakota State in its opener on Friday.

Tamarcio Wilson led Alcorn State (0-2) with 16 points.

"They've got the total packagem," Braves coach Luther Riley said of Texas.

The Longhorns raced out to a 15-0 lead and never looked back, taking a 46-22 advantage into the break before cruising to the easy triumph in the second half.

Texas shot 57.1 percent (32-of-56) from the field, while Alcorn State finished at 29.7 percent (19-of-64) ... The Longhorns outrebounded the Braves, 47-28.
