No. 12 Villanova eases past Maryland-Eastern Shore
Nov 18, 2014 - 6:24 AM Villanova, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kris Jenkins posted 15 points to guide No. 12 Villanova in an 81-44 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Monday.Daniel Ochefu had 10 points and nine rebounds while Darrun Hilliard II and Dylan Ennis each gave 10 points for the Wildcats (2-0), who opened their season with a win over Lehigh.
"When we come in here and play like that in the first half, that's tough for an opponent. I think the first half made the difference in the game," Villanova coach Jay Wright said.
Devin Martin had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Shore Hawks (0-2), who were defeated by Virginia Tech on Friday.
Villanova led this game from start to finish as the team scored 13 of the first 15 points, holding a 13-2 lead on an Ryan Arcidiacono 3-pointer just four minutes in.
The Wildcats had a 10-0 run a bit later and scored the final 15 points of the first half to give the team a 45-14 lead going into the break.
Villanova was on cruise control in the second half as its lead never dipped below 28 points.
