No. 11 UNI rolls past Loyola of Chicago

Feb 19, 2015 - 3:15 AM Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Seth Tuttle and Nate Buss scored 10 points each to lead No. 11 Northern Iowa to a 58-39 win over Loyola of Chicago on Wednesday night.

The Panthers (25-2, 14-1 Missouri Valley) extended their winning streak to 14 games and tied idle Wichita State for first place in the conference.

They haven't lost since falling to Evansville on Jan. 1 to open conference play.

Loyola shot 39 percent and had a two-game winning streak stopped. The Ramblers (16-11, 6-9) were led by six points each from Christian Thomas, Devon Turk and Ben Richardson.

Northern Iowa never trailed, opening the game with an 11-3 burst and running its lead to 10 points on Buss' jumper a little over eight minutes in.

Loyola got as close as five before halftime, but Buss punctuated an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer to make it 28-15.

Northern Iowa led 30-18 at halftime and Loyola was never closer than nine after the break.

Northern Iowa leads the all-time series 8-2, including a 67-58 win over the Ramblers on Jan. 4 at home ... The Panthers host Bradley on Saturday ... Loyola travels to play Illinois State on Saturday.
