Samford coach Padgett signs 4-year extension
Mar 6, 2015 - 9:24 PM Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Samford has signed head men's basketball coach Scott Padgett to a four-year contract extension.The school announced the deal on Friday ahead of the Southern Conference Tournament.
Padgett, 38, was promoted to head coach last June after Bennie Seltzer was fired following two losing seasons. Padgett led the Bulldogs to a 13-18 record in his first regular season, including a 6-12 mark in conference play.
Padgett played four seasons ay Kentucky from 1994-99, helping the Wildcats win the national title in 1998. He was selected in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft by Utah and spent eight seasons in the league, also playing for Houston, New Jersey and Memphis.
