Georgia State coach injured in celebration

Mar 15, 2015 - 11:27 PM New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter was injured while celebrating his team's victory in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship game.

The Panthers topped the Georgia Southern Eagles 38-36 on Sunday to earn their third NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2001.

Hunter tore his left Achilles tendon as he jumped off the bench to celebrate the victory.

"I knew when I came down that I had done it, but instead of stopping right there, I wanted to go celebrate with my team," Hunter said.

The basket was lowered so that Hunter, who was on crutches, could cut pieces of the net.
