K-State's Foster dismissed from basketball program

Mar 25, 2015 - 2:53 AM Manhattan, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Kansas State has dismissed sophomore guard Marcus Foster and freshman guard Tre Harris from its basketball program.

Foster led the Wildcats in scoring in each of his two seasons in Manhattan, though he took a step back after a promising freshman campaign. After averaging 15.5 points per game and leading KSU to the 2014 NCAA Tournament, he posted 12.5 points per game while struggling with his shot as a sophomore.

Harris made 21 appearances in his lone season with the Wildcats, averaging 3.8 points in 10 minutes per game.

"Marcus and Tre have been unable to live up to the standards that we expect of our players," said Wildcats coach Bruce Weber. "It is a privilege to represent Kansas State University and there are consequences when players don't live up to those expectations."

Circumstances surrounding the dismissals have not been released.

KSU also announced that sophomore guard Jevon Thomas will seek a transfer.

"(Thomas) has made tremendous strides during his time at K-State but he's come to the decision that he wants to be closer to home," added Weber. "We wish him the best as he moves forward in his college career."
