Panthers look to start 2-0, host North Carolina A&T

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - Pittsburgh seems to enjoy playing games in the month of November.

The Panthers have not lost in the opening month of the season since November 25, 2001, at South Florida and have won 22 straight games in the month of November.

No. 20 Pittsburgh will look to improve to 2-0 this season when it hosts North Carolina A&T on Saturday.

Pittsburgh, which has which has won its first nine games each of the last five seasons, has also won 21 straight at home over non-conference opponents.

The Panthers were led by freshman center DeJuan Blair, who had 20 points and 14 rebounds in Pittsburgh's 103-62 season-opening victory over Houston Baptist on Friday.

North Carolina A&T, which went 15-17 last season, are led by 3-point specialist Steven Rush. The senior guard broke the school record for 3-point field goals made with 115 last season, while leading the team in scoring at 17.3 points per game.

The Aggies - of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference - lost its opener, 54-43, to Saint Louis on Friday.

The Panthers are 2-0 all-time against the Aggies, including a 91-46 victory in their last meeting on November 17, 2000.
