Porter, No. 13 Oregon to take on Western Michigan

EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) - Oregon looks to improve to 3-0 when they face Western Michigan on Monday in the World Vision Invitational.

On Sunday, sophomore Tajuan Porter scored 28 points and Malik Hairston chipped in 20 as the Ducks breezed to an 80-64 triumph over Pacific.

At just 5-6, Porter made 10-of-15 shots, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc in helping Oregon start 2-0 or better in each season since the 1997-98 campaign.

"I felt like I needed to take on the scoring load," Porter said. "They played tough defense but I really just took it upon myself to score with the help of my teammates."

Porter set the school record with 110 3-pointers made as a freshman last season. It was also the second-most 3-pointers by a freshman in NCAA history.

Joe Reitz scored collected 14 points and 15 rebounds and Andre Ricks scored 14 as Western Michigan bounced back with Sunday's 70-65 victory over Pepperdine.
