Nov 13, 2007 - 2:53 PM Oral Roberts (1-0) at No. 15 Texas A&M (1-0) 9:00 pm EST

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) - Texas A&M tries to start the season with back-to-back wins when it hosts Oral Roberts in the NIT Season Tip-Off on Tuesday.

Texas A&M began its season on a high note Friday, winning 73-50 over McNeese State in Mark Turgeon's first game as coach after Billy Gillespie left for Kentucky in the offseason.

Junior Josh Carter scored 14 points to lead the Aggies in the victory while freshman DeAndre Jordan added 12 in his collegiate debut.

Carter is off to a strong start after averaging just 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists last season as the Aggies finished their campaign with a 27-7 record before losing in the regional semifinals in the NCAA Tournament.

Oral Roberts also began its campaign with a win, beating Southwestern Oklahoma State, 84-59, on Friday.

The Golden Eagles have been picked to finish second in the Summit League and face an early test against Texas A&M before playing preseason top-25 teams Arkansas and Texas later in the season.

Oral Roberts has not faced Texas A&M since 1999 as the Aggies hold a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series.
