Goods, No. 20 Stanford set to face Northwestern
Nov 15, 2007 - 3:32 PM No. 20 Stanford (3-0) at Northwestern (0-0) 9:00 pm ESTEVANSTON, Illinois (Ticker) -- Anthony Goods looks to lead 20th-ranked Stanford to its fourth straight win to start the season when they take on the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston, Illinois on Thursday night.
Stanford comes into the game after defeating UC Santa Barbara, 67-48, on Sunday night. The win was led by Goods, a junior guard who scored 23 points.
Center Robin Lopez was also instrumental, knocking down all four shots en route to scoring 12 points.
Brook Lopez, Robin's twin brother, is expected to be a key contributor after he returns from missing nine games due to academic ineligibility this season.
Northwestern comes into the season without star sophomore Kevin Coble, who has taken an indefinite leave from basketball to be with his mother.
The Wildcats come into the game after finishing up their preseason schedule with an 84-76 victory the over the University of Chicago at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
