Memphis looks to continue winning ways against Arkansas State

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- No. 3 Memphis looks for its fifth straight win to start the season when it hosts Arkansas State on Tuesday.

Memphis has won its first four game by an average of 17.3 points.

Chris Douglas-Roberts scored a career-high 33 points as the Tigers posted an 81-70 victory over Connecticut on Friday in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic Championship.

Freshman guard Derrick Rose is averaging 19.8 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Tigers. Senior forward Joey Dorsey leads Memphis in rebounding with 12.0 per game.

Senior guard Adrian Banks, a Memphis native, is averaging 18.0 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Indians, while sophomore guard Ryan Wedel is averaging 16.5 points. Junior forward Shawn Morgan, another Memphis native, averages 7.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and a team-high 4.5 assists for Arkansas State.

The Tigers are averaging 81.5 points, 20.5 more than the Indians.

Memphis leads the all-time series, 29-26, and has won the last three meetings.
