Fifth-ranked Georgetown takes to the road to face Ball State

Nov 21, 2007 - 3:59 PM No. 5 Georgetown (2-0) at Ball State (0-2) 7:00 pm EST

MUNCIE, Indiana (Ticker) -- Showing few signs of weakness at home, fifth-ranked Georgetown travels to Ball State on Wednesday to play its first road game of the season.

The Hoyas defeated William & Mary and Michigan in their first two games from the comfort of Washington D.C., with pre-season All-American center Roy Hibbert leading the way.

The 7-2 Hibbert is averaging 17.5 points and seven rebounds through the first two games while connecting on 60 percent of his shots.

Georgetown posted a 9-3 record on the road last season and have a 20-15 record away from home under fourth-year coach John Thompson III.

Ball State suffered an 81-74 overtime loss November 14 to Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Cardinals had a trio of 17-point leads in the second half before a late rally from Milwaukee forced overtime en route to the eventual win.

Junior Anthony Newell scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss while junior Laron Frazier poured in 19 points in his first career start.

The Cardinals and the Hoyas will be meeting for the second time in as many years. Georgetown owns a 1-0 advantage after a 69-54 win November 27, 2006 in Washington.
