Kansas looks to see more of Rush vs. Northern Arizona

Nov 21, 2007 - 4:40 PM Northern Arizona (3-1) at No. 4 Kansas (3-0) 8:00 pm EST

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- After getting Brandon Rush back a few weeks ahead of schedule, Kansas wouldn't mind getting him a little more work.

Fourth-ranked Kansas looks to lean a little heavier on Rush when it hosts Northern Arizona on Wednesday in the Jayhawk Invitational.

A junior, Rush nearly entered the NBA draft last June but suffered a torn ACL in a pickup game and had to return to school. He had been expected to remain sidelined until at least the first part of December.

The team's leading scorer a season ago, Rush returned just in time, as sophomore guard Sherron Collins - who was starting in his place - will be out approximately six weeks due to a broken foot.

Rush scored seven points in just 12 minutes of action in Thursday's 92-60 win over Washburn.

Rush scored 21 points with six rebounds and four assists last season in Kansas' 91-57 win over Northern Arizona, which will be trying for its first win in four tries against the Jayhawks.

The Lumberjacks' only loss came earlier in this round-robin tournament when dropped a 76-69 decision to Arizona on November 13.
