Beasley, Kansas State look to bounce back

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida (Ticker) -- Despite another brilliant performance from freshman sensation Michael Beasley, Kansas State suffered its first loss of the season on Thanksgiving.

Beasley and the 20th-ranked Wildcats look to bounce back a day later when they take on Central Florida in the consolation bracket of the Old Spice Classic.

The 6-9 Beasley has not only been one of the country's best freshman, he arguably has been one of its top players overall, averaging 30.0 points and 17.5 rebounds over his first four games.

Beasley scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Thursday, but it wasn't enough to help Kansas State avoid an 87-77 loss to George Mason.

The Wildcats next will take on Central Florida, which dropped a 76-68 decision to 19th-ranked Villanova on Thursday.

The Golden Knights committed 17 turnovers to fall to 1-17 all-time against ranked opponents.

Friday's winner will move onto face either Rider or Penn State on Sunday.
