Pittsburgh continues long homestand against Buffalo

Nov 23, 2007 - 3:22 PM Buffalo (2-2) at No. 17 Pittsburgh (4-0) 7:30 pm EST

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh must be licking its chops at the prospect of another unranked opponent at home.

The 17th-ranked Panthers continue their season-opening seven-game homestand Friday against Buffalo.

Pittsburgh doesn't play a road game until December 5, when it squares off with intra-city rival Duquesne. The Panthers visit Washington three days later.

Pittsburgh is looking for its eighth consecutive 5-0 start and has had little problems with the Bulls, owning a 7-1 all-time record. The teams met last season in Buffalo, with the Panthers squeaking out a 70-67 victory.

Buffalo hasn't defeated Pittsburgh since the first meeting between the two schools in the 1916-17 season.

The Panthers have not played since November 15, a 78-45 victory over Mississippi Valley State. Junior forward Sam Young had his second career double-double for Pittsburgh with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Buffalo has alternated wins and losses in its first four games. The Bulls are coming off an 80-63 loss at Niagara despite 16 points from junior guard Andy Robinson.
